Homeowner Spotlight: The Gills

Tom and Alyson met in Statesville, NC and were high school sweethearts. Tom, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and Alyson, a career teacher, have two daughters and two grandchildren. Both of their daughters share their mother’s passion for teaching and have made their careers as educators as well. Their oldest daughter is the mother of their two grandchildren while the youngest daughter was recently wed last year. Tom is currently an author having published three books and has a fourth novel and a children’s book on the horizon.

Tom and Alyson were searching for a community to retire that brought them close to family, the beach, and a home that provided mostly single-floor living. They found their dream home and dream community and purchased a move-in-ready Logan home within Summerhouse. 

Tom and Alyson both love that at Summerhouse they can enjoy the tight-knit community along with the beauty of their home. Tom’s favorite feature is the four-season room that allows them to remain inside enjoying the changing seasons while providing extra entertaining space when needed.  He says, “When I walked through the front door, the wow factor of the back porch hit me.” Alyson’s favorite feature is having most of their living space on the same level – and limited steps! They both agreed that there are so many beautiful aspects of their home, The Lure floor plan. 

When asked about their new home, they said “The craftsmanship is superior and the warranty service and follow up by the team cannot be overemphasized.” In addition, the communication experience with the Logan team was very impressive. They shared, “We have had immediate response for every issue, which have been very few. The scheduled six month and annual checkup provided by Logan were awesome with the management team ensuring the subcontractors were timely, efficient, and professional.”

With the superb amenities, wonderful neighbors, and great location they are happy to call Summerhouse on Everett Bay their home.
